Live edge oak vessel. This unique, hand-turned piece of willow oak has an ebonized interior and a wave rim following the natural contours of the original piece of wood.
 
It is once-turned from green wood. Using still-wet wood produces wonderful and unique results, because the wood can move in unpredictable ways as it quickly dries. This technique highlights the nature of the wood itself and produces natural, organic vessels. In this piece, the result is a subtle shifting in the form from top to bottom and a slight lean in its stance.
