This graceful vase form came from a downed white oak tree, a victim of Hurricane Helene. It has a natural edged rim, with the bark still attached. Some portions of the piece show the classic medullary rays of oak while others display highly unusual grain patterns. It makes for a very compelling combination. It won a ribbon in a recent art show in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
