Large walnut bowl with an exterior textured by carving. The interior shows dramatic grain patterns and a mixture of heartwood and sapwood. The wood for this piece came from a tree downed by Hurricane Helene in the Asheville, NC, area. It was once-turned from fairly green, or wet, wood, which results in a subtle warping of the rim for added character.
